This short route (1 mile round trip) runs up into a scenic and interesting slot canyon where water carved narrow and White Owl Canyon is a real "locals only" type of gem, located right along the edge of Lake Mead near Boulder City. It boasts a short but moderate 3.6-mile loop trail that takes you right through the heart of the canyon, and it makes for a memorable outing. Seasonal wash forming a short, twisting slot canyon through inclined, thin-layered limestone in the Gale Hills, on the north side of Lake Mead.
